William Friedkin is a director even when he's being interviewed. He criticises the jump cuts and short takes being made of him.

Mr Friedkin says the films that changed American cinema were Birth of a Nation, Citizen Kane, and Breathless. He lists the major impact of numerous films so we watch in awe as more and more movies make the list.

At the end Mr Friedkin shows he no longer enjoys popular culture. He says there has been a dumbing down. Using computers, directors can now do anything they want on film, but there is very little truth to be found.

A thought-provoking interview, and awe-inspiring to watch a man of power like this.
