Bob Hoskins: 1942-2014

Bob Hoskins (1942-2014) left school at 15, with a passion for language and literature. His acting career started by accident. He accompanied a friend to watch some auditions, only to be confused for one of the people auditioning. A script was pushed into his hands, along with the message, "You're next". He got the part and acquired an agent. After some stage success, he expanded to television. His major movie debut was in The Long Good Friday (1980). Hoskins had appeared in some 114 movies and TV shows when he retired because of Parkinson's disease.

What a dear sweet man, I've always loved his work. He was magical in 'Passed Away'.

God knows why the critics hated it so much. The topic of death perhaps?
