Robin Williams passed away yesterday. He was a quiet child, who did not overcome his shyness until he got involved with his high-school drama department. He attended the Juilliard School from 1973 to 1976, then was cast as the alien Mork in Happy Days. His appearance was so popular with viewers that it led to a spin-off sitcom, Mork & Mindy, which ran from 1978 to 1982. From there he expanded into movies.

Thank you for the prompt tribute post, Henry. Robin Williams with his "voluntary Tourettes" syndrome brought humour and humanity to many film roles. He was so frenetically energetic that sometimes you got the impression during Mork and Mindy that even the cameraman couldn't keep up.
The Parkinson interview has a poignant moment when Robin describes a photograph as a brief captured moment of the person when they were alive.
