Harold Hopkins has passed away from the asbestos-related cancer mesothelioma. He appeared in 16 movies, including Gallipoli, The Picture Show Man and Don's Party.
He also appeared in more than one hundred and sixty episodes of television series,
such as Barrier Reef, Homicide, Twenty Good Years, Riptide, Skippy, and Underbelly.

The role for which he is most fondly remembered was as Captain of Collingwood, an Australian Rules Football club, in the 1980 film, The Club. (directed by Bruce Beresford, with Scott Hicks as 1st
