"Festival of Colors"

The original "Festival of Colors" is Holi, the Hindu spring festival. These days it is celebrated in places as diverse as Suriname, Malaysia, Guyana, South Africa, Trinidad, United Kingdom, Mauritius, and Fiji.

Oh, and in South Fork, Utah, where crowds celebrate the holiday by throwing paint dust at each other.

There's a scene in the movie Outsourced (2006) where Todd, an American ex-pat, walks into the festival unawares.

"You shouldn't wear good clothes on Holi, Mister Toad."

This film was made at
South Fork, Utah, by Devin Graham.

Wow!! A sort of 'colour crazy' Woodstock, hate to have to do the cleaning up & laundery after they finish! Colours are pretty though.

This is a great clip. Wasn't the cameraman brave, to let a little boy throw purple powder at him? Or maybe it was a surprise. They say one should never act with kids or dogs. I still see the expression on the dog's multicoloured face...
